Halloween is over, which officially means that we are now in preparation for the holiday season! With winter holidays comes big family parties, the 25 Days of Christmas, and lots of hot chocolate and popcorn by the fireplace. Of course, also with holidays, comes the presents. Make this the year of asking for cute practical gifts that you’ll use all the time! Here’s to the gifts that keep on giving past the ball drop!

  1. A new planner

New year, new you. Take the time to write out anything and everything you have going on. Class assignments, job interviews, club meetings, everything. You will live and breathe by this thing, so it should at least be cute! Pick one in a great pattern and writing down the due date for your ten page paper on the history of Buddhist art might not be so bad!

  1. Portable charger

Being a communications student means you’re always connected. I’m constantly going from texting my friend to emailing a supervisor to checking the Instagram feed and back again. All that phone time means my battery is dying constantly. This portable charger is a lifesaver when my battery is at 15% when it’s only 1 p.m. Just remember to take a break and spend some time with your family too!

  1. A new tote bag

A classic tote is always a fabulous addition to any wardrobe. Whether you’re running errands or bringing your portfolio and a pair of heels for an interview, a black leather bag never goes out of style.

  1. An Olivia Pope inspired print

Need some wall art for your apartment? It’s handled. Any time you’re feeling the pressure and need to be a little inspired, take a look at this print and remind yourself that you’re a gladiator.

  1. Loft/Limited/Zara Gift Card

If having others pick out your gifts isn’t really your thing, you can never go wrong with a gift card. Ask for a gift card for your favorite store and get some great interview outfits or accessories! Nothing says “Hire me!” like a classic pencil skirt, colorful blouse, and black blazer to pull it all together. Happy shopping!
